Born and raised in Nova Scotia, Claire Parsons has long held a deep personal connection to Sable Island, sparked by childhood dreams of its wild horses and remote beauty and solidified during a transformative extended visit in 2017. Experiencing the island’s fragile ecosystems firsthand deepened her commitment to its protection and long-term stewardship.
Claire is currently the Director of Communications with EverWind and previously served as Senior Communications Manager with the Ecology Action Centre, where she led province-wide communications to inspire action on climate and environmental issues. Claire is a strategic communications leader with deep roots in environmental and community-focused work, with experience spanning nonprofit and corporate sectors. She is honoured to bring her passion for Sable Island to the SII board.
