Anna Grue

Director

Anna Grue grew up in rural Bass River, Nova Scotia, with a great appreciation of nature and geology, spending almost every weekend as a child hiking or rock hounding with her father along the Bay of Fundy shores. Also, as a child, she was enamored with horses and developed a keen fascination and wonder about Sable Island. Later in life, she began taking horse care and riding lessons and plans to purchase her first horse in 2024.

Anna comes from a finance background, completing her Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation in 2018, and is expected to complete her Master of Business Administration (MBA) at Dalhousie University in May 2023. She currently works for a federal crown corporation as a Manager of Finance and Accounting in Halifax, NS.

Since August 2022, Anna has been a proud board member with the Sable Island Institute. She also volunteers with the Bass River Heritage Society as Treasurer (since March 2013) and Big Brothers Big Sisters as a Big Sister (since December 2016).

Other than horseback riding, Anna enjoys knitting and other crafts, travelling, hiking, and adventuring outdoors.
